missing endcsname instered - xcookybooky, texstudio

I am trying to start working with the xcookybooky - package, but it doesn't work due to the preparation{ step } - part. I always get the error, missing endcsname inserted, also when trying to compile the example from ctan, which can be found here: https://ctan.org/tex-archive/macros/latex/contrib/xcookybooky/example?lang=de.

I've seen that somebody has asked the same question here Missing endcsname in package xcookybooky / TexLive
but I don't get how it was solved there and I can't comment there to ask, because I just created this account and have no reputation above 50 yet.
I'd be really glad if anybody could example to me how I get rid of the error.
